Azerbaijani volunteers celebrated the International Volunteer Day
More than 200 volunteers representing 2017 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games, the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of Azerbaijan Republic (ASAN) and “BIR” (“ONE”) the Student-Volunteer programme took an active part in the event supported by Park Bulvar. Guests of the event received information on volunteer activities, involved in series of interesting entertainment activities, whih ended up with the concert of young musicians.
The event organizers congratulated volunteers on this remarkable day and invited all those who want to become a volunteer to join any volunteer program they wish to.
Irana Ahmadova, Head of BCC Human Resources Department and the 2017 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix’s Volunteer Program encouraged young people to become a volunteer: “Baku will host the second Formula 1 race next year and, no doubt, you will once again become invisible heroes of the competition. Unlike the first experience, this year we have founded BCC Academy to serve your needs. The Academy will play an indispensable role in personal development of each volunteer through conducting a variety of training sessions and foreign language conversation clubs. Registration for Formula 1 volunteers has already been launched and, we believe, each of you will contribute in the excitement of the race by joining our team”.
Director of the Azerbaijan Islamic Solidarity Games Operations Committee Elchin Safarov also encouraged volunteers to join their volunteers’ team before the registration is over: “One of the most important factors making Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games so special is our volunteers. We are glad to observe excitement of our volunteers on the International Volunteer Day, since it shows how enthusiastic they are about the grand sports event to be hosted by us. Over 10,000 young people have already applied to become our volunteers, which, in my opinion, is an unique opportunity for them to represent Azerbaijan in the international arena and, I encourage them to take over this advantage and gain the experience of a volunteer by applying to the Volunteer Program of Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games before the deadline”.
Jahangir Hajiyev, Director of “ASAN School” volunteer school and Deputy Head of Human Resources and Training Department of ASAN, also called young people to start their professional development through volunteering and said: “Volunteering is a great engine of personal development. I encourage all young people who want to set up sound grounds for their career to become active participants of a volunteer programme”.
Tural Abdullazade, Manager of “BİR” (“ONE) the Student-Volunteer Programme called every student willing to work for the sake of Azerbaijan’s future, to make big steps towards this: “Student-Volunteers’ activity will contribute not only into the future of volunteers, but also for the sake of the country. We, as “BİR” (“ONE) Student-Volunteer programme took an initiative of supporting and directing those steps”.
It should be noted those who join a Volunteer Program will gain not only new friends and experience in organization of large scale international events, but also an opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills at a fast pace.
